“When true fear of God is realized in your heart, all good things will come to you.”
The goal is to laugh forever with someone you take seriously.
“You do not have to unburden your soul for everyone; it will be enough if you do that for those you love.”— Albert Camus
What really matters are good endings, not flawed beginnings.
Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله, Minhaj as-Sunnah (v. 8, p. 416)
Ya Allah, protect me from my own desires
Ya Allah, protect me from wanting something that can destroy me
Bid farewell to this hijri year in the best of ways by checking to what degree Allah’s affair is established in all your affairs and states and by making sincere tawbah for whatever shortcomings you find.
Make a firm resolve regarding how you spend the remaining days of your life. Your lifespan has already been decided but you do not know what remains. It may be years, months, weeks, days, nights, hours or even seconds but: “when their time comes, they cannot hasten it, nor will they be able to delay it for a single moment” (7:34)
So pay attention to how you end this year. The past year has informed you, by means of its days and nights, that the decree of the All-Powerful has been implemented and the Most Great has arranged His affairs exactly as He wishes. He has caused to die those whom He wishes and caused to live those whom He wishes. He has afflicted some with sickness and He has cured those whom He wishes. He has brought forward some and held back others and He has raised some and lowered others.
